Sponsorship

How you can help

We rely on donors and sponsors to ensure that our horses have the best retirement life!

Below, you can read about the horses who are not sponsored today and need your help.  You can choose to partially sponsor or provide full sponsorship.  Be sure to check with your employer to see if they offer matching programs.

$300 a month is a full sponsorship for that horse, covering their feed and hay. Any amount can make a difference! Sponsorship donations are tax deductible and your donation goes to help provide the very best care.

You can read each horse's bio below, as well as link to their Gallery of photos and videos.

CHerokee

Cherokee is a Tennessee Walker who came to us with Flicka.

A big guy at 16-2, he is a gentle giant.  He is happy to give hugs and loves his food!  He quickly made friends with Confetti and likes to stay near Flicka.  He rode trails and in parades and hauled around plenty of kids in his time.  He is a sweet boy with a quiet, calm personality.

*Birthday: Likely in 1996

*Homecoming: November 3, 2025

COnfetti

Confetti is a Leopard Appaloosa with a big personality.

Confetti came to us (clearly) not due to his age, but because of a chronic injury.  He has a split hoof, essentially from birth, that causes lameness if he doesn't receive proper care.  He has a HUGE personality and is a lot of fun.  He's an easy keeper, so we have to keep a close eye on his diet (and he's still a chunk).  Fetti is a good boy!

*Birthday: September 4, 2013

*Homecoming: October 24, 2025

Flicka

Flicka is a Tennessee Walker who came to us with Cherokee.

She is a sweet pony who had been with the same owner for 28 years.  She was very loved, and you can tell because she is kind and trusts people.  She moves around great for an "old lady" and enjoys walks and grazing.

*Birthday: Likely in 1986

*Homecoming: November 3, 2025

Jessie Jayne

Jessie Jayne is a free spirit who loves people!

She is a beautiful Arabian mix and is technically a pony at 14 hands tall. She is fast and can be very animated when she plays. She is loyal and really only wants to hang out with the other “girls”. She is extremely smart and keeps a sharp eye out for anyone who might have treats! Jesse Jayne came to us from the amazing Pegasus Project horse rescue in Ben Wheeler, Texas.

*Birthday: Likely in 2009

*Homecoming: August 6, 2016

Max

Max is a registered quarterhorse paint who lived with one family his whole life.

One of his people passed away, and the other had to move out of state so that his kids could take care of him.  They thought they had a forever plan for Max, but it fell through.  So Max came to us!

Max has some arthritis and skin allergies.  He loves people and he really really loves the minis! He is very easy to handle - a gentle giant.

Max is partially sponsored.

*Birthday: April 15, 1998

*Homecoming: October 17, 2023

Noah

Noah joined the herd in July 2024.

Noah is a mini donkey from Dink's family.  He is very friendly and loves getting attention.  He thinks he's the boss of the herd with RJ, Onyx, and Bravo, but Onyx says "nuh-uhn"... Noah joined us so that RJ could have another donkey to be his friend.  Since Onyx and Bravo are bonded, they frequently left RJ out.  Noah is a lot of fun and keeps us entertained.  He likes playing with toys and getting his back scratched.

Noah is partially sponsored.  We'd love to have someone help sponsor Noah!

*Birthday: March 3, 2002

*Homecoming: July 20, 2025

Peso

Peso joined the herd in July 2021.

Peso was a ranch horse and then a personal riding horse.  He had some hock and hoof issues, and his owner retired him a number of years ago.  We got him injections and some Prevacox, and he's sound today.  He's very handsome and doesn't look his age at all!  He loves everyone who has cookies, and he loves hanging out with his best friend Raie.

Peso is partially sponsored.  We'd love to have someone help sponsor Peso!

*Birthday: Likely 1995

*Homecoming: July 1, 2021

Raie

Raie came to us from Parker County Animal Control in May 2020.

She was in a herd of 9 who were extremely starved, and as she's over 20, they asked for our help.  We began feeding her 4 times a day and giving her lots of attention. She blossomed and within 2 months was healthy and shiny. She's a sweet girl with good manners and enjoys being in her herd.

*Birthday: Likely 2003

*Homecoming: May 12, 2020
