Volunteering
What Do volunteers do?
- Poop scoop! With 30+ horses, it's a lot of poop! We clean all the pastures twice a day for health reasons (flies, parasites, etc). So poop scooping is our first priority.
- Volunteers may also groom and fly spray the horses, restock supplies, and clean tack.
- Volunteers with appropriate horse experience may also walk or exercise horses.
- Help at events (setting up, baking, making signs, helping with parking, etc).
Who Can volunteer?
- We need volunteers who can commit to coming regularly at specific days and times.
- You must be able to follow instructions for the safety of both animals and humans.
- You have to be ok with sweating, getting dirty, and carrying heavy stuff.
- Accepted volunteers who are 17 years old or younger must be accompanied by a guardian, and that person must work alongside them at all times.
- We have rules you must agree to, which include being respectful and kind to animals and humans at all times. GRS is a happy place and we want it to be that way for everyone!
How do I apply to volunteer?
Complete our volunteer application form using the button below. We will usually reply within a week. If it looks like a good match, we'll schedule a time for you to come out and meet with Melissa.
Accepted volunteers will sign a liability waiver and the GRS volunteer rules.
