Our small barn catches all the flood waters when we have heavy rain. We have a plan to add a few retaining walls, drainage pipes, and to clean out the drainage ditch that runs the length of the property. We are fundraising but would also love to have help from a concrete/construction company who has tractors. Please message the page if you can help!
We have a plan to ensure that every horse gets attention every week. Some of our oldies need someone to be "their person"! Someone who has a bit of horse experience and can commit to coming once a week to groom and walk "their" horse.

New research shows that people are happy to donate to non-profits but just haven't been asked to help. And we have totally seen that this is true. For all the publicity we've had on TV, in local magazines, and at community events, local folks still tell us they had "no idea" we were here. YIKES. Please help us spread the word so that we get more support and more volunteers to help our seniors!
Taking care of everyone is a lot of work. And that includes poop scooping the pastures twice a day. We need volunteers to help with morning chores Mon-Sat from 7:30-9am and evening chores Mon-Sat from 4-6:30. You must be able to commit to coming weekly and able to lift 50 pounds. When we're done with chores, we groom and hand out treats - it's very rewarding!

Project Complete! We need to run water lines to the small barn and the small barn horse tanks. Today we are using hoses off the house and they freeze in winter!
We received a grant to cover all the costs!
Project Complete! We have 11-13 acres that are not being used today. We need to fence it and add some gates to extend the horses' pastures further and give them access to more grazing.
We received a grant to cover all the costs!
Doc & Smoothie have a new pasture with a temporary shelter. When the weather is bad, we have to move horses around and swap pastures to get them under cover. They need a permanent run-in with stall dividers.
The addition to Small Barn is complete!
We have 4 pastures with central water tanks. One of the pasture doesn't have a shelter and cannot be used, and the tanks get really hot in summer. So we need to cover the water tanks and create a shelter for the 4th pasture so that we can utilize that field!
Thanks to one of our lovely donors, we completed the shelter!
